WHAT The members of the Richmond City Council Finance Standing Committee will hold a retreat to develop 12-month and three-year plans to assist them with governing the work of the Committee on behalf of Richmond City Council.
The retreat agenda will include setting committee goals and expected outcomes, and identifying appropriate indicators for measuring the success of City of Richmond government financial and economic development plans. A framework for the retreat will include information gleaned from City Administration staff and various boards and agencies across the city.
The Richmond City Council Finance Standing Committee is responsible for assisting Council with its role in providing oversight of city government fiscal operations and citywide economic development plans. The Committee does this by assisting Council with monitoring and recommending laws and policies regarding city government fiscal operations, appropriations and expenditures of public funds. This includes providing oversight of the annual budget process/biannual fiscal plan budgets.
