Vote Online Now: Councilman Hilbert challenges all citizens, officials and companies in Richmond area to Vote Online Now for VCU to win ESPN “ESPY” Award
Must act fast – Voting ends Saturday, July 9, 2011: Category is “Best Upset” – For VCU’s (11th seed) 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball upset over (1st seed) University of Kansas - propelling VCU into NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Tournament
WHAT (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A; July 7, 2011) -- The Honorable Chris A. Hilbert, Councilman, Richmond City Council Northside 3rd District, today challenges all citizens, officials and companies to vote online now for Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Men’s Basketball Team to win an ESPN (Sports Channel) “ESPY” Award.
Hilbert urges everyone to act fast because voting ends on July 9, 2011. The vote is for VCU to win the category of “Best Upset” for their 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament win over the University of Kansas (1st seed), on March 27, 2011 (score 71-61), which placed the 11th seed VCU Men’s Basketball Team in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Tournament for the first time.
“It only takes a couple minutes, but for all that the VCU Rams did for our city, this is a way to pay them back,” says Hilbert.
The Voting process includes the following:
1. Go to the ESPN WEBSITE - at http://espn.go.com/espys/#!/voting/
2. Follow all the instructions below or your vote will NOT count.
3. Click on the image of the team or person twice and see a check mark over the entire photo. Without see a check mark, your vote will NOT be counted.
4. You must vote in all categories.
Winners will be announced live during the ESPN “ESPY” awards being held on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at 9:00 p.m.
