Samuels, Councilman, Richmond City Council - North Central 2nd Voter District (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) – "It is with great sadness I announce the retirement of my liaison, Jan Girardi. Jan has accepted a new position with the Alliance Group, located here in Richmond. Her last day in our District Office will be Friday, November 1, 2013. Over the years, Jan has been a great help to me and countless families in our Richmond North Central 2nd Voter District and throughout the city. Her tirelessness, humor, and willingness to always roll up her sleeves and take on whatever hard problems come her way has been a constant inspiration to me and many others. During her near decade of service working for Richmond City Council, many of you have grown to know and love her. Highly dedicated to public service, Jan has been a liaison for five different Richmond City Council Members over the years and has been almost a mother figure to many of the Richmond City Council Liaisons during that time. I will miss her greatly; comforted only by the fact that she is just a phone call away. I will be introducing my new liaison within a few weeks, but wanted to assure you there will be no drop in service while we go through this transition.
