Councilwoman Ellen F. Robertson invites all to First Graduation Ceremony of New Richmond Justice Center Cannon Creek Greenway Grounds Keeping & Landscaping Work Study Program

WHAT         (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) - The Honorable Ellen F. Robertson, Councilwoman, Richmond City Council, Gateway 6th Voter District, invites everyone to attend the Inaugural Graduation Ceremony of the First Class of the new Richmond Justice Center Cannon Creek Greenway Grounds Keeping & Landscaping Work Study Program.

                              Established in 2013, the goal of the Richmond Justice Center Cannon Creek Greenway Grounds Keeping & Landscaping Work Study Program is to help prepare currently incarcerated individuals for life post incarceration, by providing them with job training and post release assistance.

                              The six month training program includes three days a week working on site to help revitalize the Richmond Cannon Creek Greenway; located in the Richmond Gateway 6th Voter District and Richmond Northside 3rd Voter District. Additionally, participants receive one day, every other week, of classroom instruction in horticulture and job readiness. Incentives to participate in the program included a Certificate of Completion, extended visitation time, and home electronic incarceration, if eligible.

                               All Richmond residents are invited and encouraged to attend. Free refreshments will be served. The planned program for the event includes:
