A Statement by the President of Richmond City Council
The Honorable Michelle R. Mosby
President, Richmond City Council

Regarding: Greyhound Bus Station Incident

(Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) – The thoughts and prayers of all members of Richmond City Council and our entire Richmond family are with the family of Virginia State Trooper Chad P. Dermyer, first responders, and all who have been affected by this tragedy. We hope those who were injured will soon be back together with their loved ones and will have a full recovery from this traumatic event.

While we don't know all the details regarding the incident yesterday at the Greyhound Bus Station on the Boulevard, we do know that lives have been lost, which includes the loss of one of our state public servant law enforcement officers. Life is precious and one loss is one too many. Council supports the work of Richmond's Public Safety Team and their partners in the ongoing investigation of this incident.
