Asks for generous financial donations to be sent to the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter
(Richmond, Virginia) -- Richmond City Councilman Doug Conner, South Central 9th District, Richmond City Council, today releases the following statement regarding the fire Tuesday night, December 1, 2009, at the Chesterfield Square Apartments (a rent-subsidized complex for seniors and people with disabilities).
“My thoughts and prayers go out to the families affected by this tragedy and my hopes for them for a speedy return to normalcy in the aftermath of this terrible disruption in their lives. I also want to thank the many people who helped out in this crisis - from the Richmond Department of Fire and Emergency Services, staff and visitors at CJW Medical Center, good Samaritans, area organizations, and the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter. It is times like these that bring out the best in our community and I want to encourage everyone to assist these families and our community through generous and ongoing financial donations to the American Red Cross Greater Richmond Chapter.”
