Background
On April 20, 2014, GRTC Transit System began first phase installation of a GRTC
Transit System Temporary Transfer Plaza
facility, which includes 13 curbside bus bays located along 9th and Leigh Streets.
Used as a centralized location for connecting bus routes, the site serves approximately
5,000 – 8,000 riders each day.
Completion
of the project’s Second Phase, which includes installation of shelters, began August
11, 2013 and is being performed at night to help reduce rider disruption. Completion
of shelter installation is scheduled for the end this month.
