Councilmember Robertson to hold a Richmond Honorary Street Naming Unveiling Ceremony for August Moon

 

Corner of West 12th Street and Hull Street

 

WHAT          Richmond, Virginia (7.30.2024) - Councilmember Ellen F. Robertson, Richmond City Council, Richmond Gateway 6th Voter District, will hold a Richmond Honorary Street Naming Unveiling Ceremony commemorating the designation of the corner of West 12th Street and Hull Street in honor of the late August Moon.

All Interested Richmond residents are invited and encouraged to apply by submitting application by Friday, August 30, 2024; 5:00 p.m. (previous date was August 29, 2024)

 

Richmond, Virginia (7.1.2024) - Applications are sought from persons interested in serving as a member of the newly established Richmond Civilian Board, as per Richmond Code of Laws/Ordinances; Chapter 2, Article V.; Division 20; Section 2-1202.1., et seq. https://library.municode.com/va/richmond/codes/code_of_ordinances?nodeId=PTIICICO_CH2AD_ARTVBOCOCOOTAG_DIV20CIREBO

 

      Members of this eight-person Board will serve three-year terms. They will play a vital role in reviewing, investigating, and making recommendations to Richmond City Council, the Mayor, and the Chief of Police on specific internal Richmond Police Department investigations. This work will directly help to ensure accuracy, completeness, and impartiality in an effort to enhance trust and collaboration between law enforcement

and the community.

 

      Applicants should:

 

·        be residents of the City of Richmond,

·        not currently or previously held a position as a law enforcement officer,

·        not have family or household members in a position of law enforcement,

·        not be in pending litigation with the City of Richmond, and

·        have a dedication to justice, fairness, and community engagement. 

 

      All persons interested in serving on this important board are invited and encouraged to submit their application by Friday, August 30, 2024; 5:00 p.m. (previous date was August 29, 2024).
