A statement from Richmond City Council

Regarding the passing of former

Governor of Virginia, Linwood Holton

   

Richmond, Virginia “Richmond City Council joins all Virginians in mourning the passing and honoring the life, legacy, and service of The Honorable A. Linwood Holton, Jr., former Governor of Virginia.

 

     Council extends its heartfelt condolences to Governor Holton’s family, friends, and loved ones and shares Richmond’s love and support for peace and comfort now and in the days to come.

 

     Governor Holton will long be remembered by Richmond residents, Virginians, and all those who knew, loved, and cared about him for his lifelong commitment to civil rights, racial equality, and public education.

 

     Our city, Commonwealth, and nation are better off, more equitable, and further along humanity’s moral arc due to his tremendous dedication, hard work, and countless achievements on our behalf.”

Councilmember Trammell to hold meeting for the Richmond Southside 8th Voter District

WHAT            Richmond, Virginia Councilmember Reva M. Trammell, Richmond City Council, Richmond Southside 8th Voter District, will hold a meeting for the Richmond Southside 8th Voter District. The planned agenda and special guests include:

AGENDA/SPECIAL GUESTS

·       Alfred C. Liggins, III, CEO, Urban One

·       Richmond Police Department Officers, Richmond Department of Fire and Emergency Services Firefighters, and Richmond Ambulance Authority personnel

·       Boxed meals will be offered to attendees for carry-out at the end of the meeting

·       NOTE: Due to COVID-19, masks must be worn by all attendees
