Government Budget
Council
held a Public Hearing on Proposed Amendments for
FY 2027 Richmond Govt. Budget, welcoming residents to share thoughts, suggestions,
concerns, and ideas.
Funded Traffic Safety Programs
Council established
a special fund in the
FY2026 budget using funds
generated by the Speed Camera Safety Program. These funds will be used to cover
Richmond Police Department costs and fund some Vision Zero Programs.
Anticipated total amounts to be $2 million in the FY2026 Richmond Government
Budget.
Increased Police Operation Ceasefire Program
Council
approved additional
grant funding from the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services
to increase Richmond Police Department Operation Ceasefire Program efforts regarding
community safety.
Funded Transcription Service for Radio Transmission Fund for the
Richmond Department of Emergency Communications, Preparedness, and
Response
Council
approved additional
grant funding from the Virginia Department of Emergency Management
to create a new fund within the Richmond Department of Emergency Communications,
Preparedness, and Response to implement a transcription service for radio
transmission.
Reviewed and Considered Special Use Permits
Council
reviewed and considered Special Use Permit ordinances
for properties in the city.
