A statement on behalf of Richmond City Council

Regarding Retirement of

Richmond City Council City Auditor

Richmond, Virginia “Today during the Richmond City Council Audit Committee meeting Louis (Lou) G. Lassiter announced his intent to retire as the Richmond City Auditor later this year.

“After a 40 year career primarily in local government, I plan to retire later this year to spend more time with family,” says Lassiter. “During the interim, I look forward to assisting Richmond City Council in its search for a new City Auditor and to helping enable a successful transition.” 

Mr. Lassiter joined the Richmond City Council Office of the City Auditor as City Auditor on February 1, 2018.

     Prior to that Mr. Lassiter, served as the Deputy County Administrator for Finance and Administration for Chesterfield County, Virginia where he served more than 25 years, which included 18 years as its Internal Audit Director.

Richmond City Council thanks Mr. Lassiter for his dedicated and ongoing public service and for assisting it with the upcoming search for and successful transition of this important position.”
