Councilwoman Ellen F. Robertson encourages GRTC bus riders to take a GRTC Transit System Temporary Transfer Plaza (First Phase) On-Board Customer Service Survey

                                                

Survey being performed Sunday, August 17 - Saturday, August 23, 2014

         

WHAT         (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) – The Honorable Ellen F. Robertson, Councilwoman, Richmond City Council, Richmond Gateway 6th Voter District, invites and encourages GRTC bus riders using the GRTC Transit System Temporary Transfer Plaza (Located along 9th and Leigh Streets) to take an upcoming GRTC Transit System Temporary Transfer Plaza (First Phase) On-Board Customer Service Survey. Undertaken by the GRTC Transit System, the survey is being performed to help assist with Plaza planning.

 

                             Questionnaires will be available to all passengers boarding buses at the Temporary Transfer Plaza from Sunday, August 17 through Saturday, August 23, 2014 and those interested in participating are invited to request one from a bus operator when boarding. When completed, surveys can be returned to any GRTC Transit System bus route operator. Survey responses will be anonymous. GRTC Transit System will present survey results at public meeting(s) that will be scheduled.

 

                  Background

                       On April 20, 2014, GRTC Transit System began first phase installation of a GRTC Transit System Temporary Transfer Plaza facility, which includes 13 curbside bus bays located along 9th and Leigh Streets. Used as a centralized location for connecting bus routes, the site serves approximately 5,000 – 8,000 riders each day.

 

                             Completion of the project’s Second Phase, which includes installation of shelters, began August 11, 2013 and is being performed at night to help reduce rider disruption. Completion of shelter installation is scheduled for the end this month.
