Regarding the passing of former
Lt. Governor of Virginia, John H. Hager
    

WHAT           Richmond, Virginia “Richmond City Council joins all Virginians in mourning the loss and celebrating the life of former Lt. Governor John H. Hager and extends heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and many loved ones. Mr. Hager was known for his humor, determination, and lifelong commitment to education, family, and public and community service. Mr. Hager will long be remembered by our city, state, and community and all who knew, loved, and cared about him.”

Richmond City Council invites all parties interested in acquiring a Civil War Monument to submit letters of intent by Sept. 8, 2020

Includes those that may have previously shared/sent an interest or intent

WHAT           Richmond, Virginia Richmond City Council invites those interested in acquiring a Civil War Monument included in Richmond City Council Ordinance # 2020-154 to submit letters of intent to acquire a Civil War Monument by the submission deadline of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020. This includes all those who may have previously shared or sent an interest or intent. All letters of intent to acquire a Civil War Monument are required to include the following:

·       Letter of intent to acquire a Civil War Monument identifying specific monument/s wished to be acquired

 

·       Contact name/information of requestor

 

·       Name of entity the requestor represents

                                                                                                                                                      

·       Background information on the requesting entity, including reasons for wanting monument

                                         

·       Disclosure regarding public, private, nonprofit, etc. status and purpose

 

·       Specific proposal/offer to acquire and transport the monument

 

·       Specification as to exact location monument would be placed, if acquired                                                      

                                                                  

·       Proposed timeline for moving and transporting the monument

    Submissions are to be sent to the Richmond City Council Office of the Council Chief of Staff, using the following email address: monuments@richmondgov.com.
