Councilwoman Ellen F. Robertson announces complete makeover of Columbia Street in the Gateway 6th District: New sidewalks, street rehabilitation and trees

Work to begin in the next two weeks

WHAT
The Honorable Ellen F. Robertson, Councilwoman, Richmond City Council, Gateway 6th District, today announces a complete streetscape makeover of Columbia Street (from Chesterman Street to Webber Avenue) in Richmond’s Gateway 6th District. Work is to begin in the next two weeks.

This comprehensive cityscape infrastructure makeover will include: construction of new sidewalks; pavement rehabilitation; removal and replacement of selected trees; and, the rehabilitation of the street crossing at Goode’s Creek.

This project, funded in the Richmond City Council FY 2011 Richmond Government Budget, will be performed by city contractors and overseen by the Richmond Department of Public Works.
