Richmond City Council thankful for no serious injuries and commends Richmond’s fast-acting government departments for their work in aftermath of yesterday’s violent thunderstorm and tornados
(Richmond, VA) – The members of Richmond City Council today express their thankfulness that there were no serious injuries due to the violent thunderstorms and tornados that came through the city of Richmond yesterday evening.
Richmond City Council also thanks and commends the fast-acting Richmond government departments for their immediate response, tireless work and continuing efforts on behalf of citizens. These departments include the Richmond Department of Fire and Emergency Services, Richmond Police Department, Richmond Department of Public Utilities, Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities, Richmond Department of Public Works, and the Richmond Office of the Chief Administrative Officer.
Richmond City Council also commends the fine work and support of the American Red Cross - Greater Richmond Chapter and other Richmond nonprofit organizations for their response and support.
