Councilwoman Michelle R. Mosby to open News Conference supporting her "Ban the Box" legislation
All Richmond residents are invited and encouraged to attend
WHAT (Richmond, Virginia U.S.A.) -- The Honorable Michelle R. Mosby, Councilwoman, Richmond City Council, South Central 9th Voter District, will open a News Conference regarding her pending "Ban the Box" legislation (Ordinance) that is scheduled to be acted (voted) on by Richmond City Council on Monday, March 25, 2013 during its Formal Council Meeting, which begins at 6:00 p.m. and is held in Richmond City Council Chambers on the 2nd Floor of Richmond City Hall.
The proposed legislation (Richmond City Council Ordinance #2013-40 - As Amended) would add a new section to the Richmond City Code (of Laws) that would prohibit the inclusion of questions pertaining to a prospective job applicant's criminal conviction history on initial applications for Richmond City Government employment.
The News Conference is being sponsored by the nonprofit organization, Bridging the Gap of Virginia, and is being held in conjunction with the Richmond Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
The News Conference is free and open to the public and all Richmond residents are invited and encouraged to attend.
