Richmond City Council appoints new Inspector General, strengthens Gun Violence Prevention, and adopts Opioid Recovery and Support funding

Inspector General Appointed

Council appointed Foster Curtiss (Former Division Chief of the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) Office of the Inspector General) to serve as Inspector General. News release link

 

Richmond Gun Violence Prevention and Intervention Framework - $1.1 Million

Council strengthened Richmond Gun Violence Prevention and Intervention Framework, with targeted budget transfer of $1.1 Million. (Council Ordinance 2025-275)

 

Funding for Opioid Recovery and Support Programs

Council adopted several proposed Ordinances for funding opioid recovery and support.

 

Special Use Permits

Council acted on numerous proposed Special Use Permit Ordinances for properties in the city.
