Richmond City Council members to attend upcoming Richmond Police Department - Young Adult Police Commissioners (YAPC) Swearing-in Ceremony

All Citizens invited and encouraged to attend

WHAT Members of Richmond City Council have been invited to, and more than three may be attending, the upcoming Richmond Police Department - Young Adult Police Commissioners (YAPC) Swearing-in Ceremony next week. The ceremony, which will be followed by a short reception, is free and open to the public and all Richmond citizens are invited and encouraged to attend.

The Richmond Police Department - Young Adult Police Commissioners program was established in 2009 by Col. Bryan T. Norwood, Chief of Police, Richmond Police Department. Young Adult Police Commissioners are trained on Police operations, leadership and public information/relations. Members include juniors and seniors from Richmond Public Schools and meet once a week during the school year.

Commissioners will be sworn in by Lou Brown Ali, City Clerk, Richmond City Council Office of the City Clerk.
